Roof Leaks

Roof leaks are EXTREMELY aggravating. Water leaking in through your roof can cause so many costly issues, it can be overwhelming. Most people just don’t have time or the experience to mess with prevention, replacements, or repairs themselves. Honestly, you might not know when, where, when, or how your roof began to leak once you notice staining on your ceiling. Though wind, hail, and storms are the main cause for a faulty roof, there are still two more ways that a roof can begin to leak: either something has punctured your topside, like a tree limb, or it was installed improperly on the day of install. Many have asked once they read that their roof could have been installed improperly on the day of the install, “Why would they install improperly?” The answer is simple. Either the roofer didn’t know or didn’t care. As frustrating as that answer may be, it won’t help with fixing anything from this point forward.

Roof leaks can be the beginning of a lot of other problems. It can damage the decking on the roof of your home by allowing the moisture to seep into the wood holding your home vertical. That moisture will rot the wood over your head, compromising the structure. Believe it or not, there is more than a ton of weight on your roof protecting you from the elements. Mother nature is not your friend; and your roof is protecting you from her harsh conditions. You may notice some of the problems like staining sheetrock on the ceiling. This staining may be disturbing and ugly to see in your home, but what you may not know is that it could be the first sign of other more dramatic problems, like mold or other bacterial growth. The bacterial growth could be spreading like a rash up in your attic and the only clue is to look in the attic over that one specific spot. Not all leaks in your attic are going to be convenient for the average homeowner to inspect or repair. This is another good reason to choose a company that can not only replace your roof or make repairs, but a company that will get up into your attic, among the insulation, heat, and tight spaces to locate and/or rid your home of these problems. It’s almost like having a lottery winner go broke after a short time of being financially set.
